Friends, Frappe, Burgers: The Happy List vol. 1

Because I am such a forgetful person, I have decided to make a weekly happy list so that I have a record of all the good things that I encounter. It's more like a documentation thing because I am such a sentimental person. Also, I think it's a good idea to reflect on the good things that have happened throughout the week, so as to stay positive and not to dwell too much on the negative side of things.

I was inspired by Audrey's list, though I couldn't call it a 52 week challenge now because there's only a few weeks left until the year 2016 ends (*gasps*). So, I decided to simply do Camie's blog-link up, the happy list. I'm aiming to do this weekly and to put more details instead of just a no-frill list.

Anyway, here's my happy list for the past week.

First Hike: Mt. Balagbag, Rizal (plus some tips for first time hikers)

This is a long overdue post, so I really have no idea where to start writing. I guess I'll just have to go ahead and, whatever.

Last Valentine's Day, I went through my first mountain hike... technically. Carlo and I went crazy the day before, trying to search for different itineraries just to get the right directions, budget, and tips for first time hikers. The most ideal itinerary that we saw required us to go out of Pampanga very early in the morning. However, I had a Saturday class, which I also ended up skipping because I was waiting for something. What was that something?
Well, backtrack to a few days ago, I was making a Valentine's gift for my boyfriend. I wanted to surprise him by having it delivered through the mail. I had it shipped and my courier promised that it would arrive Saturday morning at the latest. That's what I was waiting for before heading off to our trip. The package came in at around 11 PM, so that messed up our itinerary, so we ended up not following it.

So here's what happened.

Coming Out of Hiatus

Hey there! I am so back!

The last time I blogged was about two years ago. My previous blog, Wanderlass, has been left unattended for a few years now for the following reasons.

My week in photos

• Went to Makati last Sunday to attend the Design Her Story pop-up bazaar.
• I got to meet my biggest blogger inspirations, Camie Juan and Abbey Sy! And I also bought one of Jamie Catt’s artworks (yay!)

    • I got to meet my biggest blogger inspirations, Camie Juan and Abbey Sy! And I also bought one of Jamie Catt’s artworks (yay!)
    • Went around Manila to buy some things for my upcoming business.
    • Tried Buffet 101 with my dad.
    • Allegiant by Veronica Roth keeping me company
    • Had our first long exam in Chemistry. It was terrible (as expected).
    • Rushed around the city to prepare some things for my birthday
My week started out really great but right now I feel a bit sick. Also stressed because of the school work and the preparation for my birthday party. Hoping for better days ahead.

Food Diary: The Northern Brew Coffee Shop, Angeles City

I love going to different cafes; each one of them has a different atmosphere in it. As much as I love spending time in these places, I don’t go to high-end cafes. I make sure that they offer a reasonable price, since I’m just a student.
For the past year, I’ve been used to spending some time alone, most of which were spent on eating. I think I got this from my dad. He used to bring me and my brothers to different restaurants across the Metro (we kind of used to live there). We stopped doing this when my brothers and I grew older, so now I’m having food adventures alone, well, most of the time. Anyway, as promised, I’ll be writing about my food adventures, like making a review of some sorts.
Yesterday was a serene Saturday for me. I finally had some chill time at home, no errands to do or hang-outs with friends. I asked my dad to treat me to Northern Brew Coffee Shop (Angeles City) when he mentioned it at lunch. I wasn’t really expecting him to say yes but he did.

I’ve heard a lot about this coffee shop. Chevalier School, my former school, is just around this place. My friends go here frequently but I never went with them because I was always broke. Haha.
